About

Who We Are

Syed Law provides business owners with trademark solutions at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (“USPTO”) with clear, flat fee rates and “outside-the-box” solutions. Our fixed fee pricing for intellectual property (“IP”) services is competitive, and hard to find elsewhere. Syed Law’s brand services fit the market niche between low-quality, mass trademark filing companies, and the hourly rates charged by other attorneys. We are a one-stop IP shop for business owners seeking to protect their most valuable asset — their brand. Syed Law has filed hundreds of trademark applications for clients across the United States. We represent clients from all 50 States before the USPTO on trademark matters.

Meet Ahad Syed

Managing Attorney, Syed Law

Ahad Syed

As the Managing Attorney at Syed law, Ahad Syed enjoys listening to his clients, hearing their legal and business concerns, and thinking creatively to bring them a solution that puts their minds at ease.

He is described by clients as:

  • Friendly
  • Knowledgeable
  • Efficient
  • Confident, and
  • Approachable

A proactive attorney does much more than simply filing in a template form. An experienced attorney listens to the client’s concerns, provides legal counseling, thinks of creative solutions, and carries out a plan of action for his or her clients.

  • listens to the client’s concerns
  • addresses practical business concerns (our clients are entrepreneurs after all)
  • offers creative legal solutions unique to them
  • tailors a custom plan of action
  • provides exceptional client service

Ahad does not delegate matters to support staff, if you hire Syed Law (and we agree to represent you), he will work on your matter directly.

Past Legal Experience

Before starting Syed Law, Ahad practiced law at Chicago-area boutique law firms, handling IP matters. Prior to beginning his legal career, Ahad Syed attended the prestigious University of Illinois College of Law on a scholarship. Academically, Ahad earned the highest grade in two classes, one of which was a legal clinic where he directly represented clients under the supervision of a licensed attorney. While in law school, Ahad served as a judicial extern for Judge Donald G. Wilkerson (Ret.) of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois.

While other students typically picked one, Ahad was selected for leadership on both a journal and moot court. Ahad served as Articles Editors for the University of Illinois Journal of Law, Technology & Policy (“JLTP”); and, represented the law school at the 23rd Wilhelm C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court pre-moot in Budapest, Hungary, and moot court in Vienna, Austria. In addition to several other honors, Ahad earned an Honors Distinction in Legal Research, and the H.H. Harris Foundation Hough Award for “excellence in law.”

Before law school, Ahad worked in public finance, working with his family business, and traveling. On the weekends, Ahad enjoys hiking trails and photography. But most importantly, he enjoys serving clients from all 50 States on trademark matters at the USPTO.
